BCCA Tournament

On Dec. 28^th and 29^th Bergen County held it’s annual BCCA high school wrestling tournament.  The Olympic Wrestling Club was well represented with 39 wrestlers entered in the tourney.  We are enormously proud of the accomplishments of our wrestlers and salute our Bergen County medalists!

4 COUNTY CHAMPIONS:

• 119 - JOHN TRUMBETTI - ST. JOSEPH
• 130 - TONY CARIDDI - RIVER DELL
• 145 - MATT MORGENSTERN - BERGEN CATHOLIC
• 171 - RICKY EICHENLAUB - PASCACK HILLS

3 SECOND PLACE FINISHERS:

• 119 - JOE KOVER - FAIR LAWN
• 140 - DAN ADAMO - DEMAREST
• 189 - GEORGE KOCHER - BERGEN CATHOLIC

3 THIRD PLACE FINISHERS:

• 103 - MIKE QUINN - PASCACK VALLEY
• 140 - MATT LINDSEY - PARAMUS
• 145 - ANDREW WAGNER - RAMSEY

1 FOURTH PLACE FINISHER:

• 103 - NICK ADAMO - DEMAREST

4 FIFTH PLACE FINISHERS:

• 112 - TAYLOR TRUMBETTI - PASCACK HILLS
• 130 - P.J. FLORES - FAIR LAWN
• 135 - BRAD ARLINGTON - MAHWAH
• 140 - SEAN DUNLEAVY - BERGEN CATHOLIC

3 SIXTH PLACE FINISHERS:

• 130 - JIMMY RIVERA - RAMSEY
• 135 - MATT MacLEAN - OLD TAPPAN
• 145 - RYAN PURCIELLO - RIVER DELL

In fact, of the 39 Olympic wrestlers in the tourney, 18 (46%) of them medaled. 

This is a terrific accomplishment and we’re proud of our guys and of our Director of Wrestling, Florian Ghinea.
