50 days and counting…that’s how much time there is before the wrestling rooms open.
Are you ready?
Hello friends, Sept 30, 2006
The Summer of ’05 is done and Fall is here. Fall sports like football, soccer, and cross country are in full swing…but at Olympic, our eyes are clearly focused on winter and the opening of wrestling rooms all over the State. Our wrestlers and coaches accomplished a great deal last year and our Club is proud of the many State, Regional, County, and District winners who train at Olympic.

Congratulations to all on a job extremely well done! As well as we did last year, Coach Florian has even higher expectations for the upcoming season. He was recently overheard saying to one of our parents, “I’m really looking forward to the season. We have a very tough room…the guys are working hard and I know they have high expectations for themselves. For my part, I’m going to give everything I can to help these guys achieve their goals. As good as last year was, next year promises to be even better. But it will take lots of hard work to achieve our goals!”
Speaking of achieving goals, Olympic entered the Jersey Shore National Dual Team Open last month and wrestled as a team for the first time. Our guys did incredibly well against some of the best club and high school teams on the East Coast. We finished in 3rd Place with a 7-1 record. Several of our wrestlers were unbeaten over the weekend, namely, Chris Villalonga, John Trumbetti, Trevor Melde, and Brad Arlington. Visit our web-site at olympicwrestlingclub.com for all the results and see a picture of our team. By the way, we’re looking for more high school and junior dual tournaments to enter so if you hear of any in the area please let us know.
You can also find details on our web-site of our new days and hours of operation, as well as information on our Junior Winter Special. We’ve added a night to our high school schedule in order to accommodate our many new wrestlers in a manner that is safe for all. The Junior Winter Special is intended to supplement in-town Rec programs by making it easier for Juniors to come to Olympic when it’s convenient for their schedule. Don’t hesitate to call Scott or Florian at the Club to get more information about this program.
In closing, let us quickly mention we have several new clothing items available for sale at the Club. Olympic singlets, grey and black muscle t’s, black and white long and short sleeve t shirts, hats, bags, and pants, all with the Olympic logo, can be purchased. See Scott…
Also, we’re looking to rent out our space during the daytime hours. We have several daytime times available throughout the week so if you’re looking for padded space for any kind of activity or class, please give us a call and we can discuss availabilities.
And lastly, we recently added air conditioning and improved our sanitation procedures in our ongoing effort to make our Club the best it can be. We are also doing weekly advertising in the newspaper Northern Jersey Sports, a publication aimed at high schools and grade schools in northern New Jersey. Among other things our ads will celebrate our wrestler’s accomplishments as the season progresses.
As always, Florian and I thank you for your continued support and feedback. If there are areas of the Club that you believe can be improved please don’t hesitate to talk with either of us.
We look forward to seeing you at the Club.
Here’s to a terrific wrestling season. Let the take downs begin!
Florian and Scott
